When I started Taekwondo, I was disappointed because I wanted to learn karate, but my mum said it had a more flexible timetable, but now I realise that taekwondo is more fun than Karate!
When I started, I was nervous because it was my first time beginning martial arts. But all my masters were here to help me along the way (Master Brian, Master Joyce, Master Benecia, Master Bryanna and all the other masters). When I finally got to yellow belt I was overwhelmed with excitement, that gave me the confidence to keep practicing and get to black belt and I am still following the path I set out to complete three years ago. As
I climbed up the belt ranks it got even harder trying to learn my grading, but nothing was going to stand in my way of completing it.
As I grew older, I met a lot more friends in taekwondo to talk to and have fun with, and I now know how to defend myself if I’m ever in trouble. It has been a really fun journey to get to where I am now and soon I will achieve my goal because the help I got from all my master’s to get to this exact point. Master Brian is strict, but he toughened me up. Master Joyce helped me learn my poomsaes. Master Benecia helped me learn my self-
defence, and Master Bryanna helps me with my blocks, strikes, punches, and kicks. I am grateful for all the support I’ve had for the past three years so now I might get my black belt in my grading.
