My taekwondo journey began around two years ago, back in 2023. At the time, I originally joined to exercise and, according to my parents, “learn some self-defense.” I didn’t think much of it at first, I just went to classes and focused on progressing through the belt levels. However, after joining the competition sparring classes, I realised how much I genuinely enjoyed the sport and the training behind it. That passion kept me motivated to continue training and competing, even when I was still unfit and inexperienced.
Over the past two years, taekwondo has taught me an incredible amount about myself and what I’m capable of, both physically and mentally. It has shown me the importance of resilience and determination. Even when training was tough, it reminded me not to give up. And in the end, it was all worth it. Taekwondo has given me so many memorable moments that I never would have experienced otherwise.
Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who has helped and encouraged me along the way: the masters, my friends, and my family. Without everyone’s support, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you.
